Loose Fit was founded in 2018 by James Torble with a singular aim: to create beautiful furniture from British-grown wood. Working from his workshop in East Sussex, James designs and crafts each piece by hand, drawing inspiration from sources as varied as English pub furniture and Aztec friezes.

All Loose Fit furniture is joined using traditional techniques, with thoughtful and playful details that accentuate the natural, robust beauty of solid timber. Every piece is made from locally sourced British hardwoods — including trees felled by local councils — keeping the skills of traditional joinery alive through contemporary, characterful design.
